It is our responsibility and commitment to provide an environment which is safe and nurturing. In order to achieve the above, the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment Program that implements training, screening, background checks, and other procedures that are designed to reduce the risk of sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults. The mission of the Safe Environment Office is to insure that children, young people, and vulnerable individuals who worship, study, or participate in activities sponsored therein can do so in the safest and most secure setting possible.

Our Volunteering Onboarding Process


St. Francis de Sales is committed to providing a safe environment. All new and existing volunteers must complete the following steps. If you have any questions please contact the parish office.


- Submit a completed Volunteer Application directly to the office.


- Submit to a background screen by the Archdiocese of Atlanta.


- Attach proof of Virtus Training completion within the last five years, if applicable.


- Volunteers under 18 must submit a completed parent/guardian form.

 

The Archdiocese of Atlanta offers the Virtus Protecting God’s Children safe environment training program for adults and children. Trainings are regularly hosted throughout the Archdiocese for all volunteers working with children, youth, or vulnerable individuals.
